Call The White House!

Call The We had a great meeting on Saturday. We added two new members which puts us at 16 (almost half not in Sessions' district) and getting to our goal of 20 this year:

  • Didi Eche from Little Elm in Michael Burgess' district -- she works for Christus Health in Irving but her passion is ending poverty
  • Aysha Khan from Garland in Pete Sessions' district -- she is our REAL change scholar and is a Junior at UT-Dallas
Our other REAL change scholar, Sloane Skipper an SMU graduate will be attending law school in Colorado in the fall and hence she will be working with the CO group.

See the photo we took to send to RESULTS! Rudy & Eileen joined us but were too late to be in the photo.

We also celebrated Kyle! He has our Facebook page up to 500 Likes (170% of his goal) and we are only half way through the year!! He also has 248 Twitter followers for RESULTS Dallas! His work is getting us meeting participants. The two new guys in the picture are Tevi Lawson and Jason Smith who are also very interested in our work and joined our Action Network.

Kyle, Aysha and I will be meeting with hopefully 9 North Texas congressional members' offices on Lobby Day. We have 8 meetings scheduled and believe it or not the one not yet scheduled is with Pete Sessions or someone from his office!!! We await their decision (sound familiar?).

In August/September/October we are planning to have some very informal meetings in coffee shops in District 3 (Sam Johnson's) and District 5 (Jeb Hensarling's). Kyle can target invites on Facebook to folks in their zip codes (more or less) We will be at the coffee shop between 3:30 and 5:30 in case anyone can stop by and chat with us about RESULTS and our work. We plan to do two coffees per month (one in each district). We want everyone to participate, low key. More info in July.

Finally it is not too late to write a letter to the editor, here is the

We will not have a second meeting this month. You will hear all about the IC at the second meeting in July.
